Open Concept Living Room

I always shoot living areas from multiple angles. In this setup, even though the living room was the primary focus, it was important to show its relationship to the foyer, and two rooms on either side.

Light sources, whether artificial or natural can distort a scene. In image 1 and 2, lamps and windows are overexposed but that +2 and +1 are necessary to see the detail of the other interior elements.

Take a look at the pillows on the far couch or the printed backing of the love seat on the right corner. The difference of 1 stop (between +2 and +1) gives the viewer better detail and more separation.
