I shot the entryway toward the front door because it provided lots of information. The etched front door glass was a statement, there was an entry closet, a room off of the entryway and a main hallway on the opposite side. I like to see rooms in context; how do you go in and out of rooms and how do rooms flow from one to the next.

In this example, the front door is clearly overexposed in image 1 and to a lesser extent in image 2. In Image 3, the door is properly exposed but everything else is not really useable. There is only 1 stop difference between image 1 and 2 so the changes are subtle. Look at the detail in the flooring in 1 versus 2.

As you review the final edited image, you can see where the information is collected from each exposure to create the final version.
