In this example, you can easily see that the exterior area beyond the door in example 1 and 2 is blown out. That same area in example 3 is fine but the other areas of the image are woefully underexposed.

This is a good example where the light level (exposure) within the scene is high contrast and uneven. Shooting multiple exposures @ +2, +1 and -2, will allow proper stitching of the elements and ultimately, an end product image found in example 4.
